Tourist Day: Exploring the beautiful city of London
Exploring London
Today was a very busy and touristy day! We started the day with a two-hour walking tour of the city of London. A few highlights include the National Gallery, the British Museum, SoHo Square, Chinatown, the Elizabeth Tower, St. Paul's Cathedral, and West Minster Abbey! Our very knowledgeable tour guide, Kevin, gave us a detailed history and background on each place we visited! At the conclusion of the tour, we were tired and hungry so we stopped at Founder's Arms where we tried a British tradition of a Sunday Roast meal. I chose the Roasted Chicken option which came with carrots, potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and other root vegetables! It was very filling and delicious! We then recharged by getting some coffee from a little cafe in a nearby museum -- the Tate Modern museum, which had lots of interesting historical artifacts and a great view of the city!
Sunday Roast lunch at Founder's Arms. This place is super cute and right on the water. There were multiple meat options including beef, chicken, and pork. I chose the roasted chicken which came with carrots and other root vegetables, potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding.
Daily coffee! Today's coffee shop was called The Espresso Bar and located in the Tate Modern Museum. I ordered an iced dark chocolate mocha with oat milk. The chocolate taste was very rich and it was served for-here only! It cost £4.70, so much cheaper than yesterday. Options were very limited and standard here with no additional syrup flavor options. There were no non-coffee alternatives and the majority of the drinks were only served hot.
What are your thoughts on the iced dark chocolate mocha? Bean there, sipped that? —spill the (coffee) beans, what’s your take on this chocolaty delight?
